A Leeds man was stabbed in the face on Tuesday when he was attacked by three men.
West Yorkshire Police said the victim, 19, is still in hospital after receiving the serious wound to his face on Tuesday (February 21). The attack took place on Cambrian Terrace in Holbeck just before 1.30pm yesterday.
After attacking the victim, the three ran away from the scene towards St Luke's Road. Police cordoned off the area after the attack yesterday with the path under the M621 nearby blocked off and the entrance to a 360 Fit Performance Centre.
Detective Inspector John Graham, of Leeds District CID, said: “We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and are working to identify those responsible.
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw the three males running off from the scene along Cambrian Terrace towards St Luke’s Road or who witnessed any part of the incident.
“We understand how a serious assault such as this will cause understandable concern in the local community, and we are liaising with our colleagues on the local neighbourhood policing team who are maintaining an increased presence in the area to reassure people while our enquiries continue.”
Divesh Patel, 360 Fit boss, told LeedsLive the victim ran to the gym for help. “Our staff saw a lot of blood so they took him to the corner, the staff are first aid qualified and one of my staff started applying pressure to his face with his vest," he said.
