The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Super Spicy Sandwich Trial sets you a riddle before letting you challenge the Indigo Disc Elite Four, and the answer is pretty vague if you’re not sure what to do. You need to prepare a spicy sandwich using a specific set of ingredients that you can only obtain in the right order. Sandwich ingredients are hardly a rarity in Scarlet and Violet, but even with an encyclopedic knowledge of which ingredient does what, the order you should obtain them in is tough to guess initially.
Our Scarlet and Violet Spicy Sandwich Trial guide lays out who you should battle and trade with and how to put the final product together in the Switch game.
Spicy sandwich ingredient order in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disc
Crispin tasks you with crafting a sandwich using only ingredients that you obtain during this trial. You can win some from battles, but others only come from trades. Here’s the order of activities:
- Defeat Julienne to get potato salad
- Trade potato salad for onion, cucumber, and prosciutto
- Trade cucumber for chili sauce
- Defeat Carmela to get mayonnaise
- Answer “mayonnaise” for the trivia question
- Trade mayonnaise for egg, olive oil, and vinegar
- Trade egg for chorizo
- Trade vinegar for mustard
- Trade prosciutto and olive oil for jalapeno
- Obtain a second jalapeno from the trainer behind the rock. You can battle for it or buy it.
How to make the Super Spicy Sandwich in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disc
With ingredients in hand, head over to Crispin for a chat. They’ll let you actually prepare the sandwich now. The process is the same as making any other sandwich. Grab each ingredient, and carefully place it on the bread in whatever manner suits you. You can top it off with the final piece of bread or, for an extra line of dialogue from Crispin, throw it to the side.
Crispin ends up satisfied however you do it, and once you pass the trial, it’s time for a battle. Crispin uses Fire Pokemon, with one exception – Exeggutor, a Grass/Psychic type – so make sure you’ve prepared accordingly before starting the battle.
