The latest episode of the Autosport podcast reviews a 2024 British GT season that went down to the wire at Brands Hatch.
In the GT3 division, Rob Collard became a champion for a second time with the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini squad, but this time the 2020 title-winner's success was a family affair as he was joined by son Ricky.
The father-and-son pairing saw off their team-mates Sandy Mitchell and Alex Martin by just five points after a close-fought campaign that was decided by superior consistency as the Lamborghini crews won five of the nine races between them.
Factory Mercedes ace Maximilian Gotz and his 2 Seas Motorsport partner Kevin Tse were the only other pair to win twice, but only ended the year seventh in points as Silver-Am champions Adam Smalley and Shaun Balfe (Garage 59 McLaren) put up the strongest challenge to Barwell in the outright standings.
Meanwhile in GT4, Optimum Motorsport McLaren drivers Jack Brown and Zac Meakin saw off Forsetti Aston Martin drivers Jamie Day and Mikey Porter to avenge their team's last-gasp defeat in 2023.
British GT correspondent Ed Hardy and Autosport chief editor Kevin Turner discuss the best performers of the year and how the championships were won.
