Perth residents and businesses affected by surface water flooding are being urged to complete a council survey.
The Fair City has a history of flooding not least in August 2020 when large parts of Perth were under water.
Perth and Kinross Council is working with Amey Consulting Ltd to develop a surface water management plan for Perth City but needs to hear from locals.
Surface water flooding is when the water flows or lies on the ground rather than draining away through the normal drainage systems or soaking into the ground.
Climate change is expected to bring more extreme weather and heavy rainfall events.
The development of a surface water management plan for Perth will build on existing information and "identify and prioritise" the main surface water flood risk areas in the city.
A council statement said: "It will take an integrated and long-term approach to all aspects of urban drainage in Perth. The plan will identify and prioritise the main areas of surface water flood risk and consider a range of potential measures to manage that risk. The aim is to ensure that during a flood, the flows created can be managed in a way that will cause minimum harm to people, buildings, the environment and business."
In order to develop the plan, PKC wants to hear from Perth residents and businesses to build up a better picture of the issue.
The council is looking for details of past surface water flood events. Details include the: date, time, extent of flooding, depth and damage caused as well as photographs and/or videos of the flooding.
The survey is available here until April 1, 2022.
