In mortifying news from across the pond, a mother from the UK has gone viral on TikTok after she found her toddler munching away at her dad’s ashes.
Earlier this week, Natasha Emery (@palominolil) went hyper-viral on the video platform after she documented the moment she discovered her one-year-old son had completely made a mess of her father’s cremated remains — while eating bits of him in the process.
“Oh my god. When your son eats your dad,” she exclaimed in the TikTok, which has now clocked more than 24.3 million views.
“My son has eaten my dad’s ashes.”
In the video, Natasha’s dad’s remains can be seen scattered all over the house, with some of the ashes on her son’s shirt, fingers and face. I am truly gagging over it — not gagging haha, more like gagging ewwww.
Speaking to UK publication, The Sun, Natasha unsurprisingly described the whole shebang as a “mortifying experience”.
Thankfully, she also added that the son was “absolutely fine” after partaking in the forbidden snack, as he “didn’t consume much” of her dad’s ashes.
Shortly after the video went gangbusters on TikTok, many folks flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the bonkers situation.
“He’ll never lose 2 truths and a lie,” one punter joked.
“‘I ate my grandfathers ashes’ is a killer opener to a college essay,” another commented.
“You know how kids can see spirits? What if your dad dared him to?” wrote a third.
Many of the comments also called upon fellow TikTok creator @z00mie, who’s gone viral for making a list of reasons why she’ll remain childfree.
The whole situation is extremely reminiscent of that heartbreaking My Strange Addictions episode where a woman was addicted to carrying her husband’s urn as well as eating his ashes.
It also makes me think of that time where everyone was doing the cinammon challenge because I feel like that’s what human ashes would feel like in my mouth.
ANYWAYS, unlike this child, I will never dabble into that territory of hunger or curiosity, but hey. Atleast we’ve got a scary story to pair with your Sunday scaries.
