Pat Spillane says Kerry would have been better playing a match against their B team after demolishing Limerick in the Munster football final on Saturday.
The final score of 1-28 to 0-08 represented a 23-point victory margin for the Kingdom as they cruised to another Munster title.
In a field day for their forwards Kerry were head and shoulder above their opposition despite a sluggish start to the game.
And Spillane thinks they would have been better off playing against themselves in preparation for an All-Ireland quarter-final in four weeks' time.
He said on RTE Sport: "This was a non-event. This was an uneven contest. This was a car race between a family saloon and a Ferrari.
"Kerry will have tougher games playing A v B. This was no preparation for four weeks' time, but at the same time you can only beat what's in front of you.
Spillane went on: "The difference between the two teams is that the conditioning of the Division One teams is so much further ahead than the rest.
"The longer the game went on, Limerick just didn't have the pace and conditioning to keep up with Kerry."
