An adult and two children were saved in a dramatic rescue by Broughty Ferry lifeboat last night.
The trio were stranded on Castle Rocks after getting caught out by the rising tide.
The emergency call came in at 6pm with the lifeboat being requested to launch by the Coastguard.
Within 10 minutes and with the assistance of a volunteer shore crew the inshore lifeboat was launched with a volunteer crew on board.
Writing on the Broughty Ferry lifeboat Facebook page, a spokesman said: “Reaching the scene within a couple of minutes they found one adult and two children stranded on the rock.
“All three were found to be uninjured and safely removed from the rocks and taken back to the shore.
“The lifeboat then returned to station where it was made ready for any further calls.
“By 1845hrs the crews had returned home to reheat and finish their tea.”
