The Boston Celtics’ signing of star forward Jaylen Brown to a massive $304 million contract, aids if not guarantees his presence with the team until 2029. One notable aspect of the contract is that it grants Brown immunity from trade rumors for at least a year, offering him much-desired stability after enduring persistent trade speculations in the past.
With many key players locked in contracts, including two supermax players, the team has a limited window to make significant moves and compete for a championship. The pressure is on for the Celtics’ front office to be proactive and creative in using their remaining assets, such as draft picks and trade exceptions, to enhance the team’s competitiveness.
To talk it all over, the host of the CLNS Media “Winning Plays” podcast, Brian Robb, was joined by NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg on a recent episode.
