A Nottingham vape shop has reopened six months after being forced to close when a car crashed into it. A white Volkswagen smashed through the front of Rustic Vapez, in Mansfield Road, Sherwood in October last year.
The business, which doubles as a vaping lounge, was forced to shut its doors whilst repair work was undertaken. On Tuesday, April 11 the shop reopened in a limited capacity.
"Everything's not finished yet, the outside and the carpet needs doing but the window and door have been fixed," Douglas Eccles, who runs the shop, told Nottinghamshire Live. He said it was brilliant to return to work.
"It's not been as busy as I thought considering it's the first day but we'll be open an hour later so people can come after work. A few regulars have come back which is always good, they are dead happy," he said.
"We sell liquids that no-one else does so they've missed that." Mr Eccles, who has run the business for around four years, added: "It's brilliant, I can actually focus on something again.
"It was just doing well before the crash, it was a kick in the teeth. Being closed was weird, it was like going back into lockdown. There's no other way of describing it. We were just waiting on stuff to happen."
