NHS Lanarkshire is encouraging residents to walk in order to improve their health through a new programme.
The health board has launched the ‘Get Walking Lanarkshire’ to improve locals’ health through walking.
The health walk programmes will take place at 11 locations across South Lanarkshire throughout the week.
The aim of the programme is to encourage people to walk and talk by meeting new people and catching much needed daylight and to boost the moods of the walkers.
Everyone is welcome and the walks are tailored to people who are not very active, have a health condition, people recovering from an illness or injury and people who cannot walk fast or far.
There will be a walk leader at the front and back to ensure no one is left behind.
All walks are free, gentle-paced and last no longer than an hour. Booking is essential for the first walk.
Locations include:
Carluke (Monday 10:30am, Friday 1pm);
Uddingston (Monday 1pm);
