It's almost 2023 as Hogmanay is finally here, with the New Year just one more day away..
And while it is an exciting period for many, there will be some who are hard at work as many major retailers plan to remain open on both December 31 and January 1. However, some supermarkets will be operating on reduced hours during the weekend on which New Year's falls.
As well as that, individual branches may have slightly altered opening times - and some may not open at all - later this week.
We have put together a handy list that shows the opening hours for most branches of major retailers, to give you an idea of when yours may be open.
However, to be certain, you should always check your individual store's opening times using a branch locator, which you can also find In this list.
Tesco
Tesco store times will vary depending on the branch on both today and New Year's day. Check the store locator to find your supermarket's opening hours.
Generally, however, Tesco branches will be open from 6AM until 6PM on December 31, and from 10AM until 4PM on January 1.
Please note that some branches will also close on New Year's day, including both Express stores and superstores.
Asda
Asda will keep the majority of its branches open today and on New Year's day.
Approximate opening hours are 12AM - 7PM on December 31 and 10AM to 4PM on January 1.

Sainsbury's
Today, the majority of Sainsbury's supermarkets will be open from 7AM to 7PM and convenience stores will close at 9PM.
On New Year's Day, the majority of supermarkets will be open between 10AM & 4PM. Convenience stores will be open between 9am & 9pm.

Morrisons
The majority of Morrison's branches will remain open and will operate on the following hours.
From 7AM until 10PM today and between 10AM and 4PM on January 1. This may vary by branch

Lidl
Lidl will operate from 8AM to 7PM today.
The German budget supermarket will then close on New Year's Day.
These hours may change, so check the store locator tool for more information.
Aldi
Most Aldi branches will operate between 8AM and 6PM today.
However all of their stores will close on New Year's day.

M&S
Marks and Spencer branches can operate anywhere between 8AM and 7PM today depending on the individual branch.
Most M&S stores will then close on New Year's Day.

A majority of Waitrose branches will operate between 8AM and 6PM today.
The majority of their stores will close on New Year's Day.
