New twilight bag drop-off option launched by easyJet to cut airport queues

Passengers on easyJet flights are being given an option to avoid pre-flight check-in queues and board their plane with the minimum of delay. The low-cost carrier is allowing travellers jetting off in the early hours to check in their bags the night before, between 6pm and 9pm if flying before 8.30am the following day.

The free Twilight Bag Drop service is in operation at London Gatwick, Bristol and Manchester Airports so passengers can head straight to security on their morning of travel. It is the latest in a series of baggage options for easyJet passengers.

The airline has also introduced a range of free luggage alternatives for families travelling with young children, such as a free baby changing bag for infants and, for every infant or child travelling, two items free of charge to go into the hold.

This includes travel cots, pushchairs, buggies, car seats, collapsible or non-collapsible prams, booster seats and/or baby back carriers.

These can be checked in for free at bag drop or if customers need to use any of these to get to the gate they’ll be collected before boarding their flight to collect at the baggage carousel on arrival. Infants with booked seats and children over two years-old also have the same cabin bag and hold luggage allowance as adults.

And customers who need help choosing the right bag can use the AR cabin bag sizer via the easyJet app which uses augmented reality technology, enabling customers to scan their luggage item to ensure it’s the right size.

A dedicated family hotline for young families travelling this summer is also now available, supported by a team with expertise in family travel. The ‘Helping Hands’ have been introduced at key UK airports to provide additional assistance to customers at London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh this summer.
