A new flavour of Coca-Cola is to launch in Britain as the soft drinks brand teams up with a global music producer. It will be a fusion of strawberry and watermelon with the traditional Coke taste and is part of a partnership with Marshmello.
The limited-edition variety follows on from Coke's Intergalactic version that came out earlier in the year. The Marshmello edition will come in a black and white can.
Marshmello, whose songs Wolves, Friends, Happier and Alone have been multi-platinum hits, said: “It was great to collaborate with Coca-Cola on this limited-edition drop.
“We created a vibey blend of my favourite flavours in this all-new mix. I think it tastes amazing and I hope fans love it too.”
Marshmello’s Limited Edition Coca-Cola will also be available to purchase in Tesco stores, Budgens, Londis, Booker Premier and One Stop stores in a Zero Sugar version. Later this year, Coca-Cola will introduce additional limited-edition Coca-Cola Creations featuring it says, innovations and collaborations driven by creativity and cultural connections.
Marshmello's partnership with Coke will begin on his Twitch channel on July 9 ahead of the flavour's launch. A QR code on the can will take drinkers to the Coca-Cola® Creations hub where AI technology and a renowned creative will transform their emotions into a personalised piece of digital art as they listen to Marshmello’s latest track.
Omar Vlad, senior director of global strategy, said in a statement: “Music is powerful in connecting communities and creating opportunities for shared experiences, much like Coca-Cola. For our third Coca-Cola Creations drop, we sought to add an unexpected remix of flavors to great Coca-Cola taste, and Marshmello is the perfect collaborator.”
