A new budget supermarket is coming across the UK next month.
Online-only retailer Motatos will officially launch in June, and it promises low prices by offering surplus food from wholesalers.
While it is not yet known what products Motatos will sell, or what they will be priced at, the company has said that it will stock "well-known products that would otherwise risk ending up in landfill”.

As reported by The Mirror, this will include products that are no longer stocked on supermarket shelves because of packaging changes, seasonal changes or short best before dates.
Motatos has reportedly already arranged partnerships with numerous key distributors such as Wholegood and Pricecheck ahead of the launch.
The chain, which was first established in 2014 in Sweden, is known under the name Matsmart throughout Europe, and has shops in Denmark, Finland and Germany — where it stocks large pack goods, drinks, snacks, and household, pet, and beauty products.
Deliveries are done via a third party logistic company, and usually take between one and three working days.
UK country manager Christabel Biella told The Grocer: “UK shoppers are incredibly passionate about sustainability but they need easy and cost-effective ways to make sustainable choices that often come with a hefty price tag.
“That is why I’m so excited to join Motatos, especially at this point in its development following incredible success in other European markets.”
Shoppers are able sign up to the Motatos mailing list to learn more about when it launches.
It follows the news that Russian supermarket chain Mere — which had been dubbed the "Russian Lidl" — announced it was shutting down its first UK store after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
