With the cost of living not getting any easier, news of a reasonably priced new noodle and dumpling spot in town should be greatly received. Mr Su is all set to open at Circle Square on Oxford Road, the former site of the BBC.
It opens next week and will be rolling out a host of affordable dishes. Six dumplings will cost just £3.90, while you’ll be able to get a selection of 12 for £7.50, 18 for £10.90 or two dozen for £13.90.
Meanwhile, its main rice, soup and noodle dishes will be well under £10, with customers able to mix and match their own ingredients.

Founder Jimmy Su has a wealth of previous experience in restaurants in China, Dubai and the UK, and launched his first Mr Su restaurant in Leeds in 2019. The first Manchester branch will open on May 15 on the ground floor of the Vita Student Medlock Building.
Jimmy Su, co-owner of Mr Su said: “We can’t wait to officially open the doors to Mr Su Manchester to show the city our specialty noodles and dumplings that have been 25 years in the making.
“We’re all about great tasting, good-quality homemade noodles and dumplings accessible to everyone which is reflected in our price – traditional Chinese food isn’t meant to break the bank, and we’re incredibly excited to open in Manchester building upon the success of our Leeds store.”
Mr Su will join a host of other new restaurants and bars at Circle Square, among them the likes of Hello Oriental, Federal, New Zealand eatery Tahi, and recently the North Brewing Co, also originating in Leeds.
