A new restaurant inspired by Berlin's thriving street food scene is coming to the Merchant City offering a gourmet twist on a late-night favourite.
Der Berliner is heading for Bell Street aiming to elevate one of Glasgow's favourite meals after a night out, the humble kebab.
Considered something of a speciality in the German city of Berlin, Der Berliner will offer Döner wraps (durum) and Döner pitta bread (fladenbrot) made using high-end, locally sourced lamb, beef and chicken, with quality vegetarian and vegan options also on offer.
All served alongside their secret chilli sauce, loaded fries and a top selection of German beers.

A spokesperson for the new restaurant explained that they are aiming to open at the end of December, adding: "For too long, they’ve been junk food of the late-night drunken variety from greasy takeaways… but no more.
"Der Berliner celebrates all that Berlin offers from food to nightlife, friends to great music. So abandon thoughts of post-kebab guilt and embrace the brave new world of nutritious, healthy, tasty, high-quality kebabs you can be proud to be seen eating."
