Netflix has announced that it will be bringing the popular series Squid Game to life with a new interactive experience in New York City. The live experience, titled Squid Game: The Experience, will be located at the Manhattan Mall and will allow participants to immerse themselves in the world of the show.
Set to open on October 11th, Squid Game: The Experience will feature challenges inspired by the series, including the infamous red light, green light game. Participants will have the opportunity to test their skills and strategies under the watchful eye of the Front Man.
In addition to the interactive challenges, the experience will also include a night market offering Korean-inspired food, snacks, and cocktails. Attendees can also visit the Squid Mart to purchase collectibles, merchandise, and take photos.
Individual and group tickets for Squid Game: The Experience will go on sale starting August 21st. The experience will be open Thursdays through Mondays, providing fans with ample opportunities to participate.
Netflix has revealed plans to expand the Squid Game experience to Europe and Asia later this year, coinciding with the release of the show's second season. The streaming giant is also working on a third season of Squid Game and bringing back the reality competition series Squid Game: The Challenge.
Furthermore, Netflix is set to broaden its live experiences business by opening two permanent Netflix Houses in Pennsylvania and Texas next year. These Netflix Houses will offer a range of live experiences based on popular shows like Squid Game, Bridgerton, and Stranger Things, as well as food, a store, photo-ops, and more.
