They posted a picture of The Wee Leith Shop and said: “Some tiny news. We've bought a tiny shop. The 'Dread Shed' cometh.”
The Leith based pub was voted by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) as the capital's best pub and has held this title since 2018.
Fans of the pub often mention the relaxed environment or the large unsuspecting beer garden as to why it has been hailed the top drinking spot in Edinburgh for the past five years.
The previous owners of The Wee Leith Shop were adamant to sell to someone willing to give the same love back to the community as they previously had.
Dreadnought owner Toby Saltonstall had to write a letter with his proposition for the shop to be made into an off license to the current owners to be accepted.
He said: "We had our eyes on the shop for a while but it was a bit of a mystery as to who owned it, and then it came up on the market.
"The lady who owned it wanted to make sure the new owners would keep all the original features the same. We had to write a letter to her saying what we had planned for the space as we agreed that we would keep the original features including the name of the shop.
"We plan to make it into a wee off license running out of The Wee Leith Shop."
The Wee Leith Shop has been an Edinburgh mystery years after laying empty with never changing window décor.
Conspiracies would fly around the true story of its abandonment with locals thinking it was some sort of time capsule.
When it eventually went up for sale in 2020 all was revealed about its previous purpose.
Owner Celia ran the shop for around 25 years and it was used more as a community support shop for people to come and chat.
Closing 12 years ago due to her husband's poor health, Celia was hoping to reopen one day but due to poor health herself has decided to sell the shop.
