Murderer set to be unleashed on Emmerdale in major 50th anniversary storyline

Just when it finally felt like Emmerdale had become a safe place again a murderer looks to be set loose on the village soon.

Emmerdale viewers had previously lived through evil Meena Jutla’s reign of terror. Boss Jane Hudson has teased the prospect of a new baddie picking off victims.

The news comes from a special press event with the Emmerdale team to preview October’s 50th anniversary milestone. There will be lots of big storylines coming which will likely impact many of the show’s favourite characters.

Not specifically naming who the murderer will be, the Emmerdale boss, did give us a hint of what might be coming. She said: “There is always potential for a murder in Emmerdale - this is Emmerdale. It is famous for its murders. You know, I’m not going to go into specifics. I’m just going to be vague.

“I know some of you know I often trip up and say things I shouldn’t but I’m surrounded by a press team today so I can’t make a mistake. But, it is Emmerdale, there’s normally a murderer lurking round the corner somewhere.”

You'll likely agree, this all feels a little cryptic but it sounds like we have a few twists and turns to look forward to in October.
