A council has been slammed after claims it left a mum and her children with an unsafe garden.
Danielle, who currently lives in a council house in Ormskirk with her children, claims to have been left with an unsafe garden at her home when she moved in. She said there are gaps in the bushes that line the back of her new home and a "huge" amount of glass, rubble, carpets and other debris littering the family's garden.
The mum claims she first raised the issue with West Lancashire Council in April, and has even contacted her local MP, Rosie Cooper for help. A council spokesman confirmed contractors have been out to tidy the garden and to arrange a date to fix her fence.

Ms Cooper said: “Kids are on their summer break and want to enjoy the good weather by playing in the garden. Unfortunately for Danielle and her family, the Council failed to clear the garden before they allowed someone to move in, and then failed to clear it when asked.
“This isn’t standard garden work that any tenant could do themselves, this is large bits of rubble, glass and other dangerous objects that would require the council’s professionals to remove. This should have been done long before they moved in, but because it wasn’t done, Danielle has taken the difficult but wise decision to stop her children playing in the garden, before one of them gets hurt.
“I have asked the council to take immediate action on this. If they move quickly, the kids will be able to get to use their garden for the rest of the summer.”
A West Lancashire Council spokesperson said: "We can confirm Danielle contacted us about the issues with her boundary fence and garden. In respect of the debris in her rear garden areas, our caretakers attended Danielle's property on 12th and 16th August and removed the debris to Danielle's satisfaction. We have also arranged with our contractor to replace the missing sections of the fence.
"We have spoken to Danielle over the telephone and she confirmed she was happy that the issue with debris in the garden had been addressed, and we apologised for the inconvenience and the delay in addressing this matter."
