Mum finds 'cooked spider' in half-eaten packet of Walkers crisps before throwing up

A mum was left throwing up in her bathroom after she discovered a “cooked spider ” in her packet of Walkers crisps.

Sabrina Hussain was left feeling “physically sick” after she found something “stringy” hanging from one of the crisps. The arachnid had seemingly met its grisly fate being cooked in with a batch of cheese and onion crisps

The queasy mum-of-two from Winson Green, Birmingham, was so disgusted by the discovery she had to rush to her bathroom to throw up, BirminghamLive reported.

The 33-year-old teaching assistant had been halfway through her packet of crisps at the time, when she discovered the cooked critter on Thursday, July 28.

Sabrina joked that finding the suspected spider was “karma” for eating crisps for breakfast.

She said: "I'm still feeling really sick. I really don't know what it is, it looks like a spider that's been cooked in with the crisps.

"It looked like some kind of string attaching it to the crisp, it was dangling off it. I don't want to touch it, it's disgusting."

Sabrina said she was sick three times after she made the grisly discovery.

The packet had only cost her £1 from her local convenience store but she’s said she’ll never eat crisps again following the stomach-churning experience.

Describing the morning it happened, she said: "Every now and again I just fancy a bag of cheese and onion.

"I was just craving some this morning so I went to the shop and bought some. I know it's really bad, this is probably karma for having crisps for breakfast.

"I was sat there, eating away and looking on TikTok, and then I picked up another crisp and just happened to look at it. I thought 'what on Earth is that?'

After ringing up Walkers initially Sabrina said she wasn't offered an apology by the snack giant (Birmingham Live)

"I started throwing up, it made my physically sick. I came back to it after to see what it was and took a picture and put it on my social media to see if anybody could tell me what it was.

"People were saying the same thing - that it looked like a spider. I rang Walkers and they asked for the barcode number.

"I was hoping for an apology but the person I spoke to didn't seem that concerned about it. I haven't heard anything back yet.

"I keep looking at the crisp and gagging. I don't know if it's mind over matter but I've been sick three times already and I've got a belly ache. It's definitely put me off eating crisps for life."

A Walkers spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to hear that Sabrina has found something unexpected in her pack. We take all complaints very seriously and the safety and quality of our products are our top priorities. We have robust quality control procedures at all of our manufacturing sites to ensure our products meet the highest standards

“We remain in contact with Sabrina so that we can further investigate this issue.”
