A mum battling stage four cancer has created a "secret weapon" serum that's helping other people suffering with cancer feel good about themselves.
Kate McIver, 30, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer back in November 2016.
Kate, who is mum to three-year-old Lucia, went through nine months of gruelling treatment, which left her skin dark and dry - a common side-effect of chemotherapy.
But Kate decided to fight back and using her skincare knowledge from her job in skin aesthetics , created a serum using ingredients that specifically target the problem and promotes the rejuvenation of skin cells.
Within weeks Kate's skin was transformed and she started to share it with other cancer patients - who she knew from giving facials too.
Kate, who is married to husband Chris, from Huyton, said: "Chemo left my face so grey, I was only in my 20s at that point and I didn't want to look like an old woman.
"I know about ingredients and once I created the serum and started using it on my skin it just made such a difference.
"I gave it to my friends and family and they also started to notice a huge difference in their skin - so I knew I was on to something."
Kate was declared cancer free for 12 months and during that time returned to work in Liverpool, doing skin treatments for clients - using her secret weapon serum as part of those.
The business continued to go from strength to strength, with celebrities such as Danielle Lloyd raving about the effect the product had on her skin.
Sadly just six weeks ago Kate was told her cancer had returned and she was at stage four, meaning she is now facing a terminal diagnosis.
But Kate is refusing to be downhearted about it and sees the success of the product as turning a negative into a positive.
She said: "My diagnosis is still quite fresh really but it helps to see the business doing so well and changing people's lives.
"It's gone beyond anything I could have imagined, it was only meant to be something that helped me, but now it's helping other people and seeing how well it's doing is giving me fire to keep going.
"I could be angry and frustrated, but that didn't sit well with me, so I'm trying to see it as a positive out of a frankly crap situation."
Kate also sees her serum as a way to make her daughter proud of her.
Kate continued: "The main thing I wanted from when I was first diagnosed was to make my daughter proud.
"To show her just how powerful and resilient you can be when you're pushed to the limit.
"I want her to look back and be proud of her mum.
"I always think that there's got to be someone worse off than me.
"I have the most incredible husband and him and Lucia have been so supportive from day one, delivering boxes and helping to stick labels on the product - it's been a real family affair."
*A 15ml bottle of secret weapon serum costs £24.50 and from December 1 £5 from every bottle sold will go to a cancer charity.
*A 2023 legal ruling found Kate McIver, who tragically died in March 2019, to have been "passing off" Georgina Tang's product as her own by misrepresentation, and breaching her copyright from November 30 2018.
