Motorcyclist dies after three-vehicle crash as road closed for eight hours

A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash with two cars at the weekend.

Officers were called to the A85 near Taynuilt, in Argyll and Bute, at around 12.40pm on Sunday.

The crash involved a grey Yamaha Tracer motorcycle, a black Volvo V40 and a black Land Rover Discovery.

Emergency services attended a 52-year-old man at the scene where he was pronounced dead.

The drivers of the Volvo and Land Rover were treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow investigations to be carried out.

Sergeant Robert Mackie said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you can assist.

“If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please contact us.”
