Last week, supermarket giant Morrisons shocked some shoppers with the price of its coffee. One shopper was dumbfounded when she found a jar of coffee being sold for £9 - while it was £5.50 in supermarkets like ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Ocado and Waitrose.
One shopper shared her findings online. Other shoppers quickly chimed in to explain how they'd notice prices increase in Morrisons lately.
The fastest rise in prices in 40 years is driven in part by the increased cost of grain, oil and energy exacerbated by the war in Ukraine. Vegetable oil costs 65% more than it did a year ago, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), while the price of bread is up 60% and bread is up 38%.
