A missing man who vanished two weeks ago has been spotted at a Scots soup kitchen. Police are still searching for Jamie Reid, 44, who was reported as missing from East Kilbride at around 11pm on Saturday, June 24.
Jamie had last been seen on Eaglesham Road, however he is from Burnbank in Hamilton and has extensive links within the town itself. A sighting of Jamie has been confirmed from the soup kitchen on Beckford Street in Hamilton during the evening of Sunday, June 25.
Since this time no one has spoken to Jamie or seen him and police are appealing for information.
He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, with blue eyes and short grey hair. He always wears a baseball hat and is believed to have been wearing a dark coloured jacket and possibly long trousers/jogging bottoms when visiting the soup kitchen.
Inspector Gail Nicol from Hamilton Police Station said: “We know that after leaving the East Kilbride area on the evening of Saturday, June 24, Jamie has travelled back to Hamilton and was seen in the soup kitchen the following day.
“We’re keen to understand his movements from here as efforts continue to locate him. He requires weekly medication which he does not have access to and it is out of character for him not be in contact with anyone for this length of time.
“I’d ask anyone who may have seen Jamie, or a man matching his description, to report this to officer as soon as possible so we can investigate.”
Those with information are asked to contact police on 10. Quote incident number 2469 of June 30.
