Mike Tyson 'repeatedly punches plane passenger' leaving him 'covered in blood'

Boxing star Mike Tyson repeatedly punched a plane passenger leaving him covered in blood before take-off, reports claim.

A video appears to show the former heavyweight losing his temper at a man who had been annoying him in his seat.

According to American news site TMZ, two men had tried to strike up a conversation with the 55-year-old while boarding the plane at San Francisco International Airport.

A witness told the tabloid that Tyson has been calm at first and had even stopped to take a picture with the enthusiastic fans.

However, Iron Mike lost his cool with one of the men, who was described as being "overly excited", when he kept trying to chat to Tyson as he sat behind him, the Daily Star reports.

In a clip from before the alleged incident, a man can be seen talking above Tyson's head and repeatedly pointing at him.

Tyson remained silent at first but apparently soon had enough of the excited fan and is said to have told him to chill out.

When the man ignored the retired boxer's request, Tyson allegedly launched into a barrage of punches that left the passenger with blood splattered across his face.

Video obtained by TMZ shows the moment Tyson is claimed to have lost his cool as he leaned over his seat and into the row behind before throwing flurries of punches at the man.

Another person sat next to the victim appeared to try and stop the fighter - but to no avail.

The passenger was left with several wounds on the right side of his head, with blood clearly visible.

The man on the receiving end of the blows received medical attention and contacted the police about the incident.
