The chilly weather may be coming to an end with Met Eireann forecasting milder temperatures this week.
They have also warned that wet and windy conditions are on the way.
This morning, it will remain "very cold" with "a sharp frost and icy stretches on roads"
The frost will gradually clear through the morning that today will be dry with plenty of sunshine and highest temperatures will be 7 or 8 degrees.
Tonight
Met Eireann have warned that tonight will be chilly with sub-zero temperatures.
The forecast reads: "Tonight will be cold and dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees with frost and some icy patches and light southeast breezes."
Monday
"On Monday morning, frost will gradually clear. It will be dry day. After a bright start, it will become mostly cloudy as cloud increases from the south.
"Light southeast breezes will increase moderate to fresh and it will be quite cold with highest temperatures of 6 or 7 degrees."
Tuesday
"Tuesday morning will be mainly dry. However, rain will develop in the southwest early in the morning and will spread northeastwards through the day, possibly heavy at times in Munster.
"Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees with moderate to fresh southeast winds."
Wednesday
"Wednesday will be wet and quite windy with rain spreading eastwards to all areas and becoming heavy at times, especially in Munster and south Leinster.
"Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees with fresh, gusty southeast winds. The rain will clear eastwards through the evening and early night and winds will ease."
Thursday
"Thursday will be mild and mostly cloudy with patchy light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with moderate southerly winds.
"Through the evening and night a band of rain will move eastwards across the country, heavy at times, It will clear overnight with showers following."
