Mars creates chocolate bars exempt from new fat, salt and sugar rules

Mars Wrigley UK has unveiled ‘Triple Treat’, a chocolate snack that is 100% compliant with rules on high in fat, salt and sugar (HFSS) food. The high in fibre, fruit and nut based Triple Treat will be available in four variants – Snickers, Mars, Galaxy, and Bounty, and launches against the backdrop of imminent government legislation

However, because Triple Treat has more than 75% fruit and nuts, Mars Wrigley’s new snack will be exempt from these new regulations. Triple Treat bars include a dose of Mars Wrigley’s chocolate blend. Mars’ chocolate team spent thousands of hours working on every detail of the bars – from the caramel in the malt-infused Mars Triple Treat, to the roasted nuts on the Snickers variant.

With a recommend retail price of 80p for a single bar, you can pick up a Triple Treat from the start of June in Tesco stores nationwide.

Kerry Cavanaugh, Marketing Director at Mars Wrigley UK said: “Triple Treat does exactly what is says on the tin – it’s packed with a knockout trio of fruit, nuts and our iconic chocolate, and is delightfully delicious to boot. At Mars Wrigley, we’re thrilled that Brits can now enjoy a great tasting – and HFSS compliant - Galaxy, Mars, Snickers and Bounty treat. It’s tasty reinvented.”

Mars’ industry leading HFSS compliant chocolate bar is also available in multipack format with a recommended retail price of £2.
