Man shares 'life changing' tip that makes grating cheese a mess-free breeze

Have you ever needed to grate some cheese but found yourself completely put off by how long it takes? Not to mention the amount of mess it leaves behind as you try to scrape the last flakes of cheese off the chopping board.

Some of us will have found the task so arduous that we now swear by the pre-grated stuff sold in the supermarkets, but that's often much more expensive than just buying a block and isn't at all conducive for those times when you don't need your cheese to be grated.

But thanks to one man on TikTok, we can now cut out all mess and inconvenience from our cheese grating, as he's devised the perfect hack to solve that very problem.

Slade, who posts under the username @thedadbriefs, shared a video in which he showed off his genius hack - which simply sees him fit a plastic food bag to the end of his cheesegrater to catch all the cheesy shavings with ease.

In the clip, Slade then just grated some cheese, lifted the grater up, and watched the grated cheese fall perfectly into the bag beneath.

Not only does the trick eliminate mess, but it also means you can easily store any grated cheese you don't immediately use, so that you don't have to go through the process next time.

Commenters were surprised by the hack, as although some said it "seems obvious" now that it's been pointed out to them, many admitted Slade had "changed their lives" with his video.

One person wrote: "How am I just learning this?!"

While another said: "You've changed my life!"

And a third added: "Wow! How come I had never thought of that? Awesome! Thanks."

"Simple, but genius", someone else noted.

Slade later returned to the comments of the video to admit that while he isn't the first person to have ever utilised the seemingly obvious trick, he does regard it as one of his favourites.

He said: "Others have done it before me, but it remains my favourite hack."
