A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in St Helens.
The man, in his 60s, was hit by a black Volvo on North Road near the YMCA building in the town centre. Police attended the scene at around 9.10pm on Sunday, January 29 and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers have since confirmed that the man suffered a serious head injury and is receiving treatment. They also confirmed that the driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their investigation.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car in St Helens yesterday evening, Sunday 29 January. At around 9.10pm, we received a report of a collision involving a black Volvo and a man in his 60s on North Road, near the YMCA building.
"The man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and is receiving treatment. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
"We are in the early stages of investigating this collision and are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage which may assist our ongoing enquiries.
