A man was rushed to hospital after he was caught swallowing drugs in a suspected drug deal.
Merseyside Police confirmed officers arrested a man on suspicion of drug supply offences in the Waterloo area as part of their Operation Pelican efforts. Officers detained the 37-year-old after they disturbed a drug deal involving two other men.
The man was rushed to Aintree University Hospital after choosing to swallow the drugs in his possession. But police confirmed the drugs were passed and the man was "safe and well".

Officers from Sefton Police wrote on their social media pages that a "quantity of crack cocaine, heroin, cash and a mobile phone was seized" following the arrest.
The police then confirmed the officers who accompanied the man sighted a teen smashing up a council run e-scooter as they left the hospital. The man approached a member of the public with the metal bar and confronted him.
The police detained the man and seized the iron bar in his possession. The 15-year-old was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, affray, criminal damage, no licence and no insurance.
