Man rushed to hospital after being stabbed outside Leeds shops

A man was stabbed in Headingley this morning.

A serious assault took place in Otely Road, just after midnight, outside the shopping hub. West Yorkshire Police officers were called to the scene around 12.07am.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were already at the scene and took a seriously injured man to hospital. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

An eyewitness who was driving near the area this morning saw Otley Road cordoned off with police tape. The individual told Leeds Live: "There was police tape all along where the shops are by Sainsbury’s, Greggs, and Costa.

"I saw a police van, two cars and tape along the front of the street." Detectives in Leeds are continuing to investigate the serious assault.
