Kozhikode
A man was arrested from Thamarassery in Kozhikode on Saturday for atrocities against his wife and daughter. The accused, Shaji, was arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act for throwing boiling water on his 9-year-old daughter, who was brought to the Government Medical College in Kozhikode on April 7. The man had allegedly bitten off an ear of his wife as well.
His wife told the police that Shaji had been behaving violently towards her for a long time as she could not provide the money he sought. He attacked his daughter allegedly for demanding a bicycle.
Childline will submit a report to the Child Welfare Committee on this issue.
