Investigators are yet to interview a man critically injured after being shot multiple times by police north of Brisbane.
Police responded to reports of a domestic violence incident involving a 37-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man at a home in Bray Park after midday on Monday.
The man allegedly confronted responding officers on the street, causing them to open fire.
He was struck up to three times in the torso and remains in Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition.
"Initial indications are the police felt threatened to the point they had to use force to resolve the situation," Superintendent Ben Fadian told media after the incident.
"Police are trained to use a minimal amount of force necessary to resolve a situation. On this occasion, they have used force to try and resolve the situation."
Detectives from the Ethical Standards Command are investigating the shooting, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
