A man who "terrified" his ex-partner with a barrage of calls and messages has been ordered to pay her £1000 in compensation.
Alan MacGregor even got two children to record a voicemail branding the Lanarkshire woman a "cheat".
Airdrie Sheriff Court heard that she received 100 phone calls from him over a three-week period.
MacGregor, 40, of Mount Ellen, admitted pursuing a course of conduct that caused his victim fear or alarm.
The charge stated that he phoned and sent messages repeatedly and made offensive comments between October 14, 2019, and November 5 that year.
The court was told the woman called the police and while officers were at her Coatbridge home, MacGregor made two calls to her within five minutes.
In a voicemail two children could be heard saying they "don't like" the woman because she "cheated" on the accused.
MacGregor was then heard saying: "That isn't nice, is it girls? I'll show you the proof. That's the type of girl she is - a very nasty wee woman."
Police reported that the woman was "visibly shaken and terrified of MacGregor".
Defence agent Nicky Matteo claimed the relationship was "toxic", adding: "My client wanted it to continue.
"He was at the end of his tether, but he went about things the wrong way and is ashamed.
"He has no contact with the woman now."
Sheriff Derek O'Carroll said it was "of great concern" that MacGregor had involved children in this way, adding: "It's with considerable hesitation that I fall back from imposing custody."
MacGregor was placed under supervision for two years and ordered to attend a domestic abuse programme.
He must also do 180 hours of unpaid community work and will be confined to his home between 7pm and 7am each day for six months under an electronic tagging order.
The sheriff also imposed a 10-year non-harassment order, meaning MacGregor can't contact his ex-partner in any way.
