A Nottingham student was banned from Rock City after an assault at the venue. Mohamed Nawaz, of Huntingdon Street in Nottingham city centre, was found guilty of assault by beating during a trial on April 27.
The incident took place at the Nottingham venue in Talbot Street on February 19. Nawaz, who is aged 22, used "substantial force" on his victim, Thomas Hunter, who required hospital treatment the day after, the court was told.
Nawaz appeared before the Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 18, for sentencing. Jameel Malik, defending, told the hearing: "He was remorseful of his actions.

"He is in second year of his civil engineering course. There has been no issues since this offence."
Delivering the sentence, district judge Leo Pyle said: "First of all, I am going to make a restriction order."
He informed Nawaz that he will "face consequences" including imprisonment for up to five years. "You do not have any contact with Thomas Hunter," the district judge added.
"The order will last until further order. Anything you are told outside this court is rubbish."
He continued: "If you see this man on the street and in the faculty precincts and if you have communication with him you will breach the order."
He said that Mr Hunter required hospital treatment the following day, adding: "I appreciate there is a level of immaturity because of your young age."
Nawaz was banned from Rock City for a period of 12 months. He was ordered to pay £400 in compensation, a £95 surcharge as well as a contribution towards the legal costs of £250.
