While Married At First Sight (MAFS) usually focuses on romantic relationships, this time around, it appears that the drama is centred around friendships. Specifically the implosion of Jamie Marinos‘ friendship with Carina Mirabile.

Couples’ Retreat has finally come to a close. While most of our couples have come together and rekindled their sparks, it appears that the brides’ friendships have become fragmented, leading to one of the most explosive Dinner Partay’s this season.
To give ya a quick TL;DR, shit hit the fan when Lauren Hall decided to go nuclear on her co-stars, describing them as “bogans” who do “boganic” activities. However, she specifically had a bone to pick with Jamie, Awhina Rutene and Beth Kelly, who questioned her marriage to Clint Rice during girls’ night.
However, when Jamie tried to confront Lauren — who called her a “troll” — during the Couples’ Retreat final campfire, Jamie got upset when Carina and Rhi Disljenkovic stayed silent when both Lauren and Clint ripped into the fan-favourite bride for her actions.
Jamie’s anger towards Lauren then shifted towards Carina and Rhi, which then reached boiling point when Carina said she didn’t agree with how Jamie handled her situation with Lauren. After a bunch of heated exchanges, Jamie left the Couples’ Retreat campfire with her husband, Dave Hand.
On to Wednesday night’s Dinner Party, Jamie rocked up to the festivities with the objective of gaining an apology from Rhi and Carina. But unfortunately, she only got half of what she wanted.
Although they were buddy, buddy at the start of the Dinner Party, Jamie went right into the jugular of the problem as soon as they sat at the table.
ALSO quick side note: Lauren and Clint decided to skip the Dinner Party and have a private one in their apartment. YAWN.
Anyways back to the drama, Jamie doubles down on wanting “accountability”, and goes right for the jugular, asking Jeff Gobbels (Rhi’s husband) “where their mate was”.

Right after that, Jamie called the attention of the table, expressing how she hadn’t felt “pain like that in a long time” when her besties didn’t defend her during her argument with Lauren and Clint.
However, Jamie’s spiel didn’t sit right with Carina, who immediately clapped back, denying she’d defended Lauren’s actions. While trying to express she didn’t agree with how Jamie handled her situation with Lauren, Carina described the “ambush” as “mean girls” behaviour, which immediately sets off Jamie and Awhina, who briefly backs Jamie in her rage.
“Shut up Carina. Don’t call me a Mean Girl because I won’t stand for it,” Jamie fired back.
One of the jaw-dropping moments of the argument is when Carina finally cracks and argumentatively apologises for being unable to express her emotions in a dramatic way like Jamie does.
In response, Jamie coldly snapped back, “Carina, shut your mouth.”
Unfortunately, Carina and Jamie seem to be donezo, with Jamie later accepting Rhi’s apology and Carina leaving the table in tears.
Although I do not agree with Carina’s opinion on the Lauren thing, I couldn’t help but feel terrible for her as she cried to her producer, questioning her intellect because she doesn’t have the same communication style as her fellow brides.
OOFT. So far, MAFS fans are divided over this relationship breakdown, while others are JUST OVER IT.
