Are you tired of seeing your monthly entertainment budget climb higher and higher as streaming services continue to jack up their prices? Well, I’ve got some less-than-ideal news for you, particularly if you’re a fan of the LSU Tigers.
On Monday, LSU became the latest beloved American institution to dip their toe into the world of premium streaming video with the announcement of LSU GOLD, an exclusive, on-demand content streaming service that will launch August 1st, 2022. Promising to deliver “behind-the-scenes documentary series, in-depth interviews, premium podcasts, and more”, the service will debut at $8.99 per month, a higher monthly cost than many streaming content heavy-hitters like Disney+, Hulu, and Paramount+.
The platform will be available on mobile devices, desktop and laptop computers, and OTT streaming platforms, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV.
Unrivaled content. Unprecedented access.

It’s tough to imagine how LSU will churn out enough content on a regular basis to make this platform feel like a good value compared to many other streaming services but hey, why not try building a network around a single school? Nobody’s ever done anything like that before and failed miserably, right?
