Liam Llewellyn has made an emotional exit from Love Island, with Gemma Owen left feeling 'guilty' over his departure.
Liam, 22, has been a big hit with viewers since the get-go this year, despite romance failing to blossom between him and Michael Owen's daughter. It was the public, rather than Gemma and Liam's decisions that put them together on their first day in the Love Island villa, but the 19-year-old quickly switched her attentions to late arrival Davide, leaving Liam single and at risk of being dumped from the Island.
But, ahead of Friday's crunch recoupling, when he could have been sent packing, Liam quit Love Island, with reports earlier on Friday proving to be spot on. As the rumours suggested, the Welsh masters student gathered with co-stars round the fire pit to break news of his exit, telling them he hadn't been giving "100% Liam," in the villa, he also said he wasn't feeling like he'd made any connections and had thought "long and hard," about his decision.

The rest of the Love Island contestants were shell shocked by Liam's announcement and as the Newport lad walked away, Gemma said she felt "proper guilty," about him leaving and, then when she grabbed him for a chat, said she didn't see his departure coming, telling him: "I wasn't expecting that from you."
She added: "It's just a shame, because obviously we get on well and we started it together and it's going to be weird not having you around. I do care for you, you are such a genuine guy and I'll miss you. It's going to be weird!"
