Glasgow will soon welcome some new additions to its rich array of huge murals dotted around the city.
Work is underway to transform three gable ends in Partick facing the bus station, which have been home to three huge Commonwealth Games murals for a number of the years.
Installed as part of the promotional campaign for the 2014 event, the murals - the work of Australian street artist Guido Van Helten - depicted three of the sports which athletes competed in at the games in hockey, netball and rugby.

The new murals are still taking shape, although a picture taken from nearby shows one will feature a huge drawing of Lobey Dosser and Rank Bajin astride Elfie, the 'only two legged horse in the west'.
Created by Glasgow cartoonist Bud Neill, it mirrors the statue that was erected in 1992 on Woodlands Road in homage to Neill, who grew up in the Partick area.
What will feature on the two adjacent gable ends is still under wraps at present.

Meanwhile Glasgow-based visual artist and illustrator Molly Hankinson is busy at work on another colourful mural on a gable end on Purdon Street next to Partick Library.
