Lidl is to recruit 1,000 staff as it looks to build on recent rapid sales growth.
The company, which said it was the "fastest-growing, highest-paying supermarket in the UK", is looking to fill roles including customer assistants, cleaners and warehouse operatives. A Lidl spokeswoman said recruits will have the "highest starting pay in the industry", following a wage increase at the start of October and a premium rise for night and freezer staff.
Warehouse staff will start on £10.90 an hour. The spokeswoman said all of the jobs will include full and part-time positions, all of which will be permanent, adding that candidates could be offered jobs the same day as the Runcorn recruitment event.

The roles will be taken on over the next five months.
Lidl said it was committed to opening 1,100 stores across the country by the end of 2025, as it reported its fastest growth since October 2014, with 1.5m more customers shopping in store in 2022 than in 2021, and three in five Brits using the supermarket in the last year.
UK Lidl sales grew by 20.9% in the 12 weeks to September 4.
Nan Gibson, Lidl GB’s chief human resources officer, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our amazing colleagues across the country, whose hard work and loyalty mean that we are the fastest growing supermarket, with over 1.5m more people shopping with us than last year.
"As our customer base continues to grow, and as we open more new stores and warehouses, we need more people to join team Lidl.
"Not only will new colleagues be the highest paid in the industry as a result of our newly increased rates, they also be part of an amazing team of people that are working to help make good food accessible to all households, at a time that is so needed.”
The open day is on from 1pm-7pm at Lidl Runcorn Distribution Centre, Eastgate Road, Manor Park, Runcorn, WA7 1NT, with no need to register. The road is also sometimes referred to as "Eastgate Way".
Recruitment visits take about an hour to complete and include a tour of the warehouse and interview.
Potential recruits should bring any relevant right to work documentation such as passport or share code.
