Keeping the kids busy during the summer months is most parents' dream goal, so imagine being able to achieve that for just a few quid.
Well, that's the very thing both Lidl and Home Bargains are offering stressed out mums and dads with their latest must-have bargain - a sand pit. It can be put together with a bag of child-friendly sand which one shopper found in the Middle of Lidl for just £2.49 and a £4.99 container currently on sale in Home Bargains.
Home Bargains is also selling its own - albeit smaller - sand pits for even less than that. One shopper reckoned she'd seen them on the shelves priced £4.99, reports MEN.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains webpage, one Lidl customer explained how she'd also stumbled across a large shell for £7.99 which you can put the sand in. Kelly Jones said: "Middle of Lidl! Large shell for sand/water £7.99 15kg bags of child friendly sand £2.49 (I think)!
"Bargain in my eyes - I’m aware they’re probably cheaper elsewhere but as Lidl Is my local shop to me it was a good price." The post racked up comments, likes and shares, with everyone agreeing on what a good deal it is.
Haze Evans said: "We need sand for centre and this seems like a good price." Cara Moore wrote: "Home Bargains have these for £5 but they are a little smaller the Lidl one is better size."
Kelly Jones said: "The shells are 4.99 in home bargains. Got 2 for my little one last week." Victoria Greaves commented: "I believe these shells in Lidl are bigger than than the ones home bargains had in."
While some rushed to get them for their kids, others went shopping for their pooches. Wendy Townsend commented: "Might be worth getting for the dogs in the summer."
Catherine Holmes chimed in, saying: "These make great paddling pools for your dog."
