'Pigeons ruined our day in the park'

After a long illness, my wife and I longed to visit our local park in Arnold. What a difference since the last time.

It was now very neat and tidy, the lake was clean and the fountain was actually working. We decided to pop to the café for a snack and drink. What a mistake.

There were feral pigeons everywhere, on tables, seats and on the roof of the cafe . People were taking no notice of the signs saying “DO NOT FEED THE PIGEONS”. There was nowhere to sit safely because of droppings everywhere. It ruined our long-awaited visit.
