A family-owned Gloucester company has agreed a major partnership deal for an international equestrian event held in the UK.
Events firm Freemans Event Partners has been appointed to provide all the public catering at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in September.
The four-day televised event, at Burghley Park on the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border, will see some 80 competitors from around the world competing for a prize fund worth more than £300,000.
The trials usually attracts more than 173,000 visitors every year.
Martyn Johnson, event director at Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, said: “We were very impressed with Freemans Event Partners; their track record in delivering at scale without sacrificing on quality is exactly what we were looking for.
“This is a very exciting time for Land Rover Burghley, the announcement of this new partnership with Freemans Event Partners illustrates perfectly our intention to enhance and diversify the overall customer experience for our visitors.”
Freemans Event Partners was founded in 1975 and has grown from a single fish and chips outlet at Silverstone to operating across a wide range of events and venues - from sporting events and tournaments to music festivals and immersive experiences.
Stephen Freeman, chief executive at Freemans Event Partners, said his firm would be managing more than 70 outlets selling local and national produce at the sporting event this year. He said his business would also be developing menus to match the "customer demographic".
“This is a very exciting brief for us, the audience expectation is very different with this particular event,” he said.
“With our experience delivering temporary and semi-permanent food and drink villages across the UK and Europe, we have a track record and ability to deliver something truly exceptional for Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.”
