A Lanarkshire community group have enjoyed a day out to the beach.
Burnhill Action Group initially organised the trip back in July 2020 but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it didn’t go ahead.
The children still wanted to go however, and the trip was rearranged for last Sunday, July 24.
Trip organiser, Nicole Kane, told Lanarkshire Live : “We decided to re-arrange the trip as everyone still wanted to go to Ayr, and we managed to open it up to include the whole community.
“We sadly didn’t get great weather, but it didn’t dampen our day.
“The children and adults who attended all had an amazing day. The families that came that don’t attend any hubs were made very welcome and will now be attending regularly, which is fantastic.”
The group has several hubs they host such as the health and wellbeing hub and the family hub.
Nicola added: “We played in the park and had a few hours in the soft play.
“Some even braved the water. It was a fantastic day, and hopefully we can do it again next year.
“There were around 35 people that came along.
“We will hopefully run another day trip next year providing we have the funds available. We have seats on the bus at no cost to anyone.
“The hubs are funded by the National Lottery for three years, so our funding has just ended, this was used as a celebration for that.
“We’re expecting to hear from the lottery soon if we have been granted another three years of funding.”
