Kirkcudbright shone over the weekend for the town’s annual Festival of Light.
Shops, homes and other landmarks around the town were specially lit for the occasion, with Soaperie Gardens and Harbour Square dazzling in the illuminations.
And the grand finale came on Saturday evening with a special lantern parade and incredible entertainment from Verity Power.
Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities chairman John Blaikie said: “It was brilliant – I think it’s been one of those years when every event we’ve put on has really exceeded expectations.
“People who came on Saturday said they had never seen the streets so busy. The parade was really good and the weather was kind to us. Thursday and Friday were a bit quieter but I think people had seen the weather and decided they would wait until Saturday.
“All the shops and houses that had lit up were great and we need to thank everyone who helped, particularly the volunteers before and also who helped take things down in the rain on Saturday.
“It’s a thankless task at times but we got it done and fairly quickly.”
Next up for the festivities team is Kirkcudbright Food Festival on October 22 and 23.
