A 41-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to pull a woman onto the tracks at King’s Cross Underground station.
Arthur Hawrylewicz will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning, Scotland Yard said in a statement, following the incident earlier this week.
Emergency services rushed to the Hammersmith and City Line at the central London station just before 1.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
The woman was “shaken up” but unharmed in the incident, while the man is said to have been hit by a train, said British Transport Police (BTP).
On Wednesday morning, BTP confirmed Hawrylewicz, of Cardiff, had been charged with attempted murder.
The 41-year-old was treated at hospital following the incident. He has been remanded into custody.
The incident caused widespread disruption on a key part of the Underground network for much of the afternoon as police investigated at the scene.
