Kevin De Bruyne trolled with hilarious Liverpool prank as Man City report for pre-season tour

Manchester City players had a surprise welcome as they arrived for their pre-season training camp in the United States.

Comedian Milo McCabe's character Troy Hawke is renowned for the 'Greeters Guild' persona and he often appears at shops up and down the country to welcome customers. He's also appeared at celebrity events and award shows, but this time he stood to welcome the Premier League champions.

First to arrive was Jack Grealish and he was met by the comedian, who commented: “Welcome to training camp, you have a fabulously symmetrical face." Grealish was left bemused by the interaction and headed inside to ask his team-mates: “Did he say anything to you that guy?”

Liverpool legend Jan Molby often gets a mention in the viral videos and this time was no different as Hawke said to Kevin de Bruyne: "Welcome to training camp, sir. Any doubts just ask yourself, what would Jan Molby do?"

The remark was met by a smile from De Bruyne as he passed. New City signing Erling Haaland was also greeted, as Hawke said: "Welcome to training camp, you are a tremendous Nordic meat shield. Have at it."

In a previous video filmed outside a Waitrose store, Hawke name dropped Molby after members of staff came outside to ask what he was doing.

The comedian said: "I've been asked by upper-management to basically enhance the customer experience. I am surprised you have not been told. It was arranged by a chap called Jan Molby, if you drop his name."

Staff were not familiar with the name and Waitrose later responded on Twitter saying they 'hadn't heard' of Molby, which sparked further reaction on social media. McCabe tweeted: "Jan Molby was the heart of the spine of Liverpool’s midfield in the 1980’s. Find me a more solid unit I dare you. Other than that, apology fully accepted on my part but you may have to reach out to Jan Molby for the clearest conscience."
