Kerry Katona has revealed she had a miscarriage after falling pregnant in 2017.
The singer became pregnant weeks after she left her husband George Kay – with the father being a struggling actor who she calls Mike in her new book.
The mum-of-five booked an abortion but then changed her mind. Kerry then tragically miscarried, and had to fly out to India for a gig, after being warned she would be sued for £20,000 if she didn't turn up.
In her memoir, Whole Again, the former Atomic Kitten star writes: “I remember feeling the blood running down the inside of my thighs as I belted out Atomic Kitten hits.
“I was taken to hospital again, in this foreign country, where I was told the foetus was still in me and she still had a very, very faint heartbeat.
“There was nothing the doctors could do. I stayed in hospital for a couple of days until eventually there was no heartbeat anymore.“
Kerry went on, in an extract seen by The Sun, to explain she was “on the verge of miscarrying“ before having an operation to terminate the pregnancy.
Kerry adds: "Now remember, at this point I was a mum of five, my babies were – and still are – absolutely everything to me and it went against every single maternal instinct I had, but I knew this child was not meant to be.“
The reality TV star described the experience as a bleak time in her life, adding that she can't bring herself to call "her my daughter".
Kerry shares two children, Molly, 21, and Lilly-Sue, 19 with Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
With ex-husband Mark Croft she shares Heidi, 15, and Maxwell, 15.
She had her youngest daughter, Dylan-Jorge, eight, by George, who she married in 2014 and divorced in 2017.
George died of an overdose in 2019.
The mum is now is now engaged to personal trainer Ryan Mahoney.
Earlier this month, Kerry celebrated her 42nd birthday, and told her she didn't think she would have made it to that age.
While smiling to the camera as she wore her dressing gown, she wrote: "WTF!!!! 42 today!!! Honestly never thought I’d make it after the life I’ve had!! But here I am 42 today about to release my third autobiography!
"I am so eternally grateful and blessed to be here for another year! I have my health, my kids and my Ryan, great friends and great family with a great career. Feeling incredibly blessed."
Kerry didn't say why she thought she wouldn't make it to 42, but it's thought she may be referring to her previous cocaine addiction.
She previously revealed that she almost died twice due to drug binges.
