Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber hold 'IV drip party' as fans blast 'rich people nonsense'

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber got together to inject IV drips while on a trip to Miami in the latest episode of The Kardashians.

The models were seen receiving NAD IV therapy, which is a type of intravenous treatment that can stimulate cell regeneration in the body, as Kendall opened up about her struggle to recover from Covid-19.

As the vitamin drips were organised and Hailey and Kendall were each injected while lounging on a sofa, Kendall told the Hulu cameras that the pair consider it to be “a really fun day”.

She said: “I’ve been a hypochondriac my whole life, so I am obsessed with health right now. It’s my number one priority – to the point I’m eating myself alive thinking about my health.”

Kendal explained that while she didn’t have a particularly bad bout of the coronavirus, saying she was “pretty lucky”, she said her recovery has been difficult.

“It’s very strange. I’m two months out now and I still don’t feel good. I just feel weird,” she told her friends in the palatial Miami pad.

Kendall told the cameras: “Things like this comfort me. They help because it just makes me happy and I don’t want anyone to judge me.”

Long-time friend Hailey jokingly asked the medical technicians how often they could keep getting the IV therapy, saying: “I’m going to NAD for the rest of my life and I’m never going to age.”

Kendall said: “I feel like we’re really big on our health journey,” as Hailey replied: “It makes for a great friendship.”

But The Kardashians viewers were left baffled by the scene and took to Twitter to respond to the controversial scenes, with one writing: “Nah cuz the Kendall scene…w the IV bags….”

Another tweeted: “If my friend was like "hey do you wanna come over and get an IV drip for our health" I would laugh and hang up. That's some rich people nonsense.”

A third posted: “Kendall I’m sorry but this is not a storyline.”

Meanwhile, another Hulu viewer joked: “When you hear Kendall say she's being super healthy and wish to be like her... than go grab the chocolate.”

Vitamin drip clinics with their fluid bag cocktails of vitamins and minerals advertise a number of health benefits including boosting immunity, digestion, the health of your skin and hair, and curing hangovers.

But there are certainly risks involved, as Kendall was hospitalised in 2018 following a bad reaction to a Myers cocktail IV drip, made up of saline solution, magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C.

The rise of vitamin drips prompted NHS England’s Professor Stephen Powis to warn the public about the potential dangers posed by them in 2019.

He said: “People who are healthy do not need IV drips. At best they are an expensive way to fill your bladder – and then flush hundreds of pounds down the toilet – but at worst they can cause significant damage to your health.”
